Adult Jiu-Jitsu Classes
Whether you're stepping onto the mats for the very first time or looking to sharpen your existing skills, our adult Jiu-Jitsu classes are designed to help you grow at your own pace in a supportive, welcoming environment.
One of the things that makes Wolfe Lair different is our class size. Rather than training in crowded rooms where it's easy to feel overlooked, our classes are intentionally smaller, allowing for a low instructor-to-student ratio. That means more personalized coaching, more opportunities to ask questions, and more individual feedback every time you train. Beginners never have to worry about being left behind, and experienced students benefit from coaching that helps refine the details that make a difference.
Gi Jiu-Jitsu
Training in the traditional gi develops strong fundamentals through the use of the uniform's grips and controls. Gi training emphasizes precision, patience, balance, and technical problem-solving while introducing a wide variety of submissions, sweeps, and positional strategies. It rewards thoughtful technique over strength and provides an excellent foundation for anyone beginning their jiu-jitsu journey.
No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu
No-gi classes are practiced in athletic clothing without the traditional gi. Without cloth grips, the pace is often faster and the movement more dynamic, placing a greater emphasis on body positioning, wrestling, scrambling, and clinch control. No-gi develops athleticism while teaching practical grappling skills that translate well to self-defense, mixed martial arts, and modern competitive jiu-jitsu.
Which Should You Choose?
The answer is simple: both.
Training in both gi and no-gi creates a more complete grappler. While each style presents unique challenges, they share the same core principles of leverage, timing, control, and technique. Our curriculum is structured so that all of our weekly classes are beginner-friendly, making it easy to start regardless of your experience level. You don't need to "work your way up" before trying different classes. We'll meet you where you are and help you build confidence one class at a time.
At Wolfe Lair, our goal isn't just to teach techniques. It's to help every student become stronger, more confident, and part of a community that supports one another on and off the mats.
